Aerodrom Municipality begins removal of derelict and unregistered vehicles
Inspectorate to tow cars to municipal depot after notifying owners to free public parking and improve communal order.

On August 26, 2026, the Municipality of Aerodrom announced that its Inspectorate has started an operation to remove derelict, waste and unregistered vehicles from public streets and parking areas.
The action follows prior notification to vehicle owners and completion of administrative procedures; cars are being lifted by a tow-transport service and taken to the municipality's depot. The municipality says the measure will free parking places and public space for citizens.
Legal grounds and scope
The Inspectorate will continue procedures against vehicles that have been unregistered for more than three years, as well as against damaged and waste cars. After the procedures are completed, those vehicles will be permanently removed from public areas and their owners may face sanctions under the Law on Management of Additional Waste Streams and the Decision on Communal Order of the Municipality of Aerodrom.
The same rules apply to camping trailers and boats left on public parking or other public spaces; the municipality emphasized that public space must not be occupied long-term by items or vehicles that are not in use.
Municipal officials say the campaign aims to increase the number of available parking spaces, improve safety, raise communal standards and make Aerodrom cleaner. The Municipality appealed to owners to remove derelict and unregistered vehicles, as well as camping trailers and boats, in a timely manner.
