Orce Gelevski celebrates birthday and retirement with family
Veteran presenter celebrated a combined birthday and retirement with family; he told Kafe Muabeti he looks forward to spending more time with his grandchildren.
After more than four decades in Macedonian folk music, media and the popular entertainment scene, veteran presenter Orce Gelevski has marked a personal milestone: a combined birthday and retirement celebration held among family and close friends.
Folk singer Marjan Kocev shared a snapshot from the gathering on his social channels under the slogan "Gelevci" and added a warm message: "Happy birthday and happy retirement, uncle Orce Gelevski." The photo shows a relaxed, music-filled household atmosphere.
A new chapter focused on family
Gelevski leaves behind a long career that included active work across roughly forty years and participation in organising some of North Macedonia's most important folk festivals. For him, retirement comes with the promise of more time for family life.
Speaking recently on the programme "Kafe Muabeti," he reflected on the change: "In the period when we were raising children, it seems we didn't have enough time to fully dedicate to them. We were young, we had ambitions, work, football, friends... And now, when I look back at that time, with my grandchildren I can fully make up for it. That is my greatest pleasure! Whenever the children ask me, I immediately pick them up from kindergarten, from school, we spend weekends and winters together. There are no words to describe how wonderful that feeling is," Orce said sincerely.
On the same programme he also spoke for the first time about his roots in Mala Prespa, the golden era of Macedonian folk song and other personal memories. The episode included candid recollections about life on and off stage.
The mood at the private celebration was intimate and celebratory, with colleagues and family joining to wish Gelevski well as he moves into this next stage.
