US military aircraft damaged in Iranian strike on Muafak Salti airbase in Jordan
An A-10 was severely hit and around eight F-15s suffered lighter damage as Jordan intercepted most missiles.
Several U.S. military aircraft were damaged during an Iranian missile strike on the Muafak Salti airbase in Jordan last night, local reports say. One A-10 Thunderbolt was reportedly hit so severely that it "lost a wing," while roughly eight F-15 fighters sustained lighter damage.
Defense systems engaged, no U.S. casualties reported
U.S. forces responded by firing more than 30 missiles from Patriot air defense systems during the attack. There are, so far, no reports of American military fatalities.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it carried out strikes against the Muafak Salti and Prince Hassan bases, both used by U.S. forces in the region.
The Jordanian Armed Forces reported that their air-defense systems intercepted 18 Iranian ballistic missiles, while two missiles fell in uninhabited areas inside Jordan.
Details remain limited and authorities have not released a full official account of the scale of material damage or the operational impact on U.S. units stationed at the bases.
