Osijek to extend Admir Ljatifi's contract to 2028 as Celta and Freiburg show interest

Admir Ljatifi has earned a growing role at NK Osijek this season, and the club is moving to secure his future with a new contract running to 2028. The 2007-born forward has impressed with his playing time and performances, prompting Osijek to offer improved terms and protections.

Osijek's plan includes both an extension and an increase to Ljatifi's release clause, a measure the club hopes will keep pace with outside interest. Spanish side Celta Vigo are among the clubs reportedly tracking him, and Germany's Freiburg have also been linked with potential approaches.

The player is a product of the New Stars academy and came through the domestic scene with spells at Makedonija GP and Besa Dobri Dol before moving to Croatia. His development at Osijek has accelerated his international prospects.

International youth record and potential

Ljatifi has made more than 25 appearances for North Macedonia's youth teams and, despite being born in 2007, already has three caps for the U21 side — a sign of his rapid progression through the age groups.

Osijek appear determined to keep the forward for the immediate future while protecting their investment by raising his buyout figure. For Ljatifi, continued minutes and development in Croatia could determine whether offers from Celta or Freiburg materialize into transfers.
