Eight killed in massive Russian attacks on Ukraine

During the night, Ukraine was hit by a new massive wave of attacks by Russian forces, which reached cities far from the front line, while practically the entire country was placed under an air alert. According to initial reports, at least eight people were killed and more than 30 were injured.

Damage and casualties

The attackers, according to information received during the night, used dozens of missiles and cruise missiles and simultaneously launched hundreds of drones, apparently with the aim of overwhelming air defenses. Air raid sirens were sounded across much of the country.

The extent of the damage became clearer only after dawn. In the suburbs of the southern city of Kryvyi Rih, a missile struck the home where a large family lived: six people were killed at that location, including two children aged five and twelve, and eight people were wounded.

Two more victims were reported in the capital Kyiv and in the Poltava region, while authorities said that 15 people were injured in Lviv. This information cannot be independently verified.

Medical facilities in the affected areas received the wounded, and emergency services worked through the night. Authorities announced that inspections and damage assessments are ongoing while evacuations and repairs at the affected sites continue.
