Pedro Acosta records first MotoGP victory in Austria
The KTM rider claimed his maiden MotoGP victory at the Red Bull Ring after recovering from a sprint crash earlier in the weekend.
Pedro Acosta secured his first MotoGP victory in Austria on 20 September 2026, capping a weekend in which the young KTM rider emerged as the strongest contender at the Red Bull Ring.

Acosta had shown competitive pace from the start of the weekend and translated that form into a faultless main race, taking the checkered flag to claim the maiden win of his premier-class career. The result was the first MotoGP victory for the Spanish rider and a milestone for his campaign.
Earlier in the weekend Acosta suffered a setback in the sprint race, when he crashed while holding a leading position; this time he avoided mistakes and controlled the race from the front.
Behind Acosta, Jorge Martin finished in second place, while Marco Bezzecchi completed the podium in third.
The event in Austria again brought together the world’s top motorcycle competitors, with Acosta’s performance underlining his rapid adaptation to MotoGP machinery and race conditions.
