Pension Fund: Revenues over 77.17 billion denars (over €1.25 billion) and increase in beneficiaries in the first half of 2026
The half-year report, adopted at the 36th session of the Management Board, shows expenditures of 71.88 billion denars and an increase of 1,876 pensioners.
The Pension and Disability Fund closed the first half of 2026 with improved operating results — the half-year report, adopted at the 36th session of the Management Board, records revenues of 77.17 billion denars and an increased number of pension beneficiaries.

The session was chaired by the deputy president of the Management Board, Sasho Pop-Ilioski, and the Fund's director, Nikola Memov, briefed members on activities during the past period. Memov emphasized that improvements in efficiency have been noted, especially in resolving cases within legally prescribed deadlines. He also reported that the severe storm that recently hit Skopje damaged part of the roof of the Pensioners' Home 'Aerodrom' and that remediation measures are already underway.
The director of the Finance Sector, Fatime Nedjipi, explained the financial balance: in the period from 1 January to 30 June 2026 the Fund realized total revenues of 77.17 billion denars. The funds were provided through contributions, transfers from the state budget, excise revenues, other non-tax revenues and carried-over funds from 2025 in the amount of 1.83 billion denars. Expenditures in the same period amounted to 71.88 billion denars.
The report states that the number of pensioners increased by 1,876 people in the first six months. For payment of death benefits to the families of 8,189 deceased pension beneficiaries, the Fund allocated over 317.6 million denars.
The Management Board also reviewed information on the adjustment of pensions and the level of pension incomes in 2026, as well as on the development of the IT system and the automation of business processes and services implemented during 2025.
Members of the session also pointed to the pressure on long-term care institutions — pensioners' homes are operating at full capacity, many older people are left without day-care places, and oversight of private care institutions is limited, which, according to the Fund, requires additional coordination with social services.
