Pep Guardiola receives formal offer from Kosovo side Malisheva

Kosovo Superleague club Malisheva has sent a formal coaching offer to Pep Guardiola, the high-profile Spanish manager, the club announced on October 7, 2026.

Terms on paper: generous base and performance bonuses

The proposal, signed by club vice-president Afrim Bytyqi, lists a gross annual base salary of €650,000 and a series of sporting bonuses that could raise the total to €1.05 million in an optimal scenario.

According to the offer, Guardiola would receive €100,000 for winning the Kosovo championship. European competition bonuses are structured as follows: €300,000 for qualification to the Champions League group stage, €200,000 for qualification to the Europa League and €100,000 for entry to the Conference League. The package specifies that European bonuses are not cumulative — only the highest-achieved European placement would be paid.

The written terms also note that other contract details and payment arrangements would be negotiated between the parties. Malisheva currently competes in the Kosovo Superleague and has recorded notable wins this season over Vushtrria, Feronikeli, Gjilan, Lapi and Ballkani.

The club is coached by Thomas Brdarić, and last year the team was led by Katip Osmani; both coaches previously worked at Shkëndija. There has been no confirmation that Guardiola has accepted or negotiated the offer.

Social media amplified the story: "🚨🇽🇰 Kosovo Superleague side Malisheva have offered Pep Guardiola a deal worth up to €1.05M. Owner Afrim Bytyqi's package: 💰 €650k base

Pep Guardiola needs little introduction after a long and trophy-laden spell at Manchester City, which included Premier League and Champions League triumphs. Observers say the Malisheva offer is remarkable more as a marketing coup than as a likely career move.
