Five handball legends to speak at first Women's Handball Forum in Ohrid

The Handball Federation of Macedonia will stage the first Women's Handball Forum on 26 September 2026 in Ohrid, bringing five of the region's most accomplished players together to discuss the future of the women's game.

The forum is organised as part of the international tournament "Trophy Macedonia 2026" and is supported by the project "Women's Sports Stories", a two‑week initiative focused on promoting women in sport.

Under the motto "One game. One voice. One future.", the event will feature panelists Indira Kastratović, Andrea Lekić, Lidija Horvat, Suzana Lazović and Dragana Cvijić. They will recount their personal and professional journeys: from first steps in handball to the biggest matches and the medals they won. The conversation will address both highs and lows, the support they received and the prejudices they faced, the opportunities on the Balkan handball scene and the changes necessary for women's handball to keep growing.

Speakers will also put special emphasis on persistence, leadership and life in handball after the playing career — topics that organisers say are important not only for elite athletes but for the next generations as well.

The forum will bring together legends, current members of the North Macedonia national team, young domestic players, coaches, sports professionals and others involved in developing future generations.
