Five-year-old girl dies after Seat veered onto pedestrian–bike path in Kraljevo
Mother seriously injured and transferred to Belgrade; the younger child, around a year and a half, was released to home care.

A five-year-old girl died after a car left the roadway and struck a family walking on a pedestrian-and-bicycle path in Kraljevo, authorities say.
The child suffered extremely severe injuries and, despite doctors' efforts at the hospital, later died. Her mother was also badly injured and was transferred to Belgrade for further treatment. The family's younger daughter, around a year and a half old, sustained injuries that did not require continued hospital care and was released home.
Driver arrested; no licence
Police arrested the 26-year-old driver identified by initials J.A. after the crash. According to the investigation, the vehicle — a Seat — veered off the road and onto the pedestrian-and-bicycle path where the mother and her two small children were walking. Subsequent checks found that J.A. did not have a driver's licence, and he was held in custody for up to 48 hours.
Emergency services and police arrived at the scene immediately after the impact. The injured were taken to hospital, where medical staff fought to save the five-year-old girl's life, but her injuries proved fatal.
The accident has shaken the local community in Kraljevo. People began laying flowers and children's toys at the site and lighting candles in memory of the little girl. Authorities continue their procedures to determine all the circumstances that led to the crash.
