Piotr Zieliński: Inter will attack the Champions League trophy this season
Zieliński says Inter were boosted by the performance in Madrid and will give everything to win the Champions League this season.
08 October 2026 — Piotr Zieliński has declared that Inter Milan's primary objective this season is to lift the Champions League trophy, and says the club took encouragement from its recent trip to Madrid.
"We dream of winning the Champions League"
“We dream of winning the Champions League and we will give our all,” Zieliński said, outlining the team's ambitions after the high-profile away fixture.
Although Inter were beaten 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu, the Polish midfielder insisted the performance proved the side can match Europe's best. “It's no small thing to go to the Bernabéu and dominate, to have possession and to create chances. Unfortunately, we lost, but we showed that we are strong,” he added.
Zieliński also pointed to the domestic title race, naming Roma, Juventus, Napoli, Milan and Como as Inter's main rivals in the fight for the Scudetto.
The remarks underline Inter's dual ambition this campaign: to contend at the very top in Europe while maintaining pressure at home. The club will now turn its focus to upcoming fixtures as it tries to convert belief into results.
Zieliński's comments came on 08 October 2026 following the Real Madrid match in Madrid and set a clear public tone for Inter's objectives in both the Champions League and Serie A.
