Pustahija family offers 1,800 BAM, house and land to caretakers in Motike

The Pustahija family has published an unusual vacancy: they seek a family to live on and work their estate in the Motike settlement near Banja Luka, offering 1,800 convertible marks (about 920 euros) per month plus a house and land to use.

Accommodation, formal registration and paid contributions are included, and preference will be given to families with children who already have experience with the daily rural lifestyle.

Property and daily duties

Tihomir Pustahija (66), born in Motike and who moved away with his family after the 1969 earthquake, says the initiative is driven not by calculations or a search for cheap labour but by the wish to preserve the ancestral home and give a family the chance to enjoy nature and a healthy rural childhood.

The estate comes with a furnished house featuring three bedrooms and several outbuildings: a barn, a pigsty and a chicken coop. There is also a larger flock of sheep that requires daily care, and the property is equipped with full agricultural machinery — a tractor, a trimmer and a chainsaw.

Daily animal care takes about five to six hours. For heavier tasks such as mowing grass, baling hay or harvesting fruit, additional help will be provided. The offer includes permanent employment, formal registration and the possibility of a long-term stay on the property.
