Shkendija stay top after Round 6; Struga TL on -2, Tikvesh third, Vardar fourth

After the sixth round of the Macedonian First Football League, Shkendija remains at the top with 15 points, while Struga TL sits two points behind following a weekend of decisive results. The round closed with Vardar's 2:0 home win over Arsimi, a match played under visible protests by the Komiti supporters and marked as the first victory for Vardar's new coach Miodrag "Grof" Božović.

Shkendija’s lead is slim: the team still has 15 points but lost at home on Friday against a resurgent Tikvesh, which demonstrated that Shkendija can be beaten. Struga TL follows with 13 points and remains perfect at home, having won all four of its home fixtures so far.

Tikvesh moved up to third place with 11 points after an impressive performance this round. Vardar climbed to fourth with 10 points — five fewer than Shkendija, an improvement from an eight-point gap recorded in the previous round. The newly promoted Shkendija Arachinovo also has 10 points and is a pleasant surprise this season.

Sileks is the competition’s most unwelcome surprise, having lost three games in a row — all in derby matches — and now sits on 7 points. The same number of points belongs to Arsimi, while Bregalnica has 6 points.

Skopje remain the only team without a win, collecting three draws for a total of 3 points and occupying the penultimate position. Bashkimi earned their first points of the season by beating Skopje.
