MZT Skopje seek first international win in ABA2 away at Sutjeska
Reigning Macedonian champions enter ABA2 away to Sutjeska after three defeats in European competition, with promotion ambitions.

MZT Skopje head to Montenegro today seeking their first win on the international stage after a difficult start to the season in European competition.
Adriatic push begins in ABA2
The reigning Macedonian champion arrives in the ABA2 League still smarting from three defeats in the FIBA competition. The club’s objective in the regional second tier is clear: to build momentum and press for promotion back into the Adriatic elite.
Their first opponent in this phase is Sutjeska. The match is scheduled for October 24, 2026, with tip-off at 13:00 (local time), and MZT will play on the road in Nikšić.
“We have entered a run of tough games, this is our second away trip in just a few days, but that will not stop us from giving our maximum. We face a quality opponent who has long competed at the regional level and will want to win in front of their supporters. It is up to us to play according to plan, exploit the opponent’s weaknesses and ultimately celebrate,” said coach Vasko Atanasov.
Guard Leslie Varner echoed confidence in the squad’s level and readiness.
“In recent days we have prepared for this game and I believe that if we fulfil the tasks set by the coaching staff we will be able to reach our goal. The rhythm in which we play is relentless, but we will do everything to use the quality, which I believe is on our side,” Varner said.
