13‑year‑old boy stabbed in Čair, Skopje, dies after nearly a month in hospital

Thirteen-year-old boy who had been stabbed during a late‑August fight in the Čair neighbourhood of Skopje has died, hospital officials confirmed. He had been admitted on the night of 31 August with a penetrating chest wound and underwent emergency surgery.
According to hospital reports, the boy remained in critical condition after the operation and "nearly a month later" succumbed to his injuries yesterday.
Prosecutors open investigation
The incident at the end of August involved two groups of young people. Three participants were injured in the brawl, including two minors, prosecutors said. A 19‑year‑old suspect and his 13‑year‑old brother were identified as the alleged perpetrators.
The Skopje Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation, stating that the 19‑year‑old, together with his underage brother who is below the criminal responsibility age, committed acts of violence that left three people wounded, two of them minors. The prosecutor’s office is seeking custody for the 19‑year‑old.
Authorities previously ordered 30 days of detention for the 19‑year‑old suspect while inquiries continue. Police and medical sources say the case remains under active investigation.
