Risto Gligoroski, Pobeda legend, dies aged 76

Sad news from Prilep: Risto Gligoroski, a celebrated figure in Macedonian club football, has died at the age of 76. Born in Ohrid in 1950, Gligoroski spent the greater part of his life and playing career in Prilep, where he became a symbol of FK Pobeda.

Career and legacy

Gligoroski arrived at Pobeda from Karorman of Struga and quickly won over the demanding local supporters with his performances. His quality on the pitch attracted attention beyond Prilep.

At the invitation of Partizan Belgrade, he joined the Belgrade side on a one-month tour of South America — an uncommon experience for players from the region at that time. After a spell with FK Vardar in the late 1970s, he returned to Pobeda, where he remained an important figure in the club's history.

Former teammates, club officials and fans in Prilep are mourning the loss of a player who left a lasting imprint on local football. The clubs he represented remember him for both his contributions on the field and his ties to the community.

Details about funeral arrangements have not yet been released.
