Inmate dies in Idrizovo prison yard after contact with live wire
Ministry of Internal Affairs says a 42-year-old detainee from Debreshte climbed a pole, grabbed a live wire and fell; an emergency doctor pronounced him dead.
An inmate died yesterday inside the inner exercise yard of the Idrizovo correctional institution, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
The incident was reported to police at 14:43 local time, when officers were notified that a 42-year-old prisoner had collapsed in the prison’s inner yard.
According to the police report, the inmate was identified by initials as N.I. and was from the village of Debreshte.

"The inmate N.I. (42) from the village of Debreshte climbed a pole and grabbed a wire that was live, at which point he fell. A doctor from the Emergency Medical Service pronounced death," the police report says.
Authorities said investigators and prison officials are carrying out measures to clarify the circumstances of the case.
