Paul van Dyk and Paul Oakenfold to perform in Strumica on August 16
The concert is part of North Macedonia’s 35th independence programme; organisers expect about 15,000 attendees.
Two world-famous DJs – Paul van Dyk and Paul Oakenfold – will perform together in Strumica on 16 August, Avalon Production announced. The organizers say that around 15,000 visitors from across the country will attend the event.
Avalon said at the press conference that the performance will take place in the City Park and singled it out as one of the top events in the program. At the press conference Boban Milošeski said: "On Sunday, 16 August, right here in the City Park we will have a joint performance by the two, perhaps, certainly among the ten biggest, most influential DJs of all time, Paul van Dyk and Paul Oakenfold, together, they will perform exclusively in Strumica as part of this manifestation, which I truly believe is a big deal for Macedonia and the region," and they emphasized the importance of the concert for the city and the region.
Program for the 35th anniversary
The performance in Strumica is part of the official program to mark 35 years of independence. Government spokesperson Marija Miteva set the dates and main items in the events calendar.
Miteva said at the press conference: "On 2 August everything begins with a big concert in Bitola. We held a press conference where we announced that over 120 Macedonian artists across several cities will perform throughout Macedonia during the entire month of August. We start on 2 August and with the central event on 8 September with David Guetta at the City Stadium, we will complete the concept around the commemoration," confirming that the program opens on 2 August in Bitola and will culminate on 8 September with David Guetta's performance in Skopje.
Avalon is promoting the event in Strumica as an exclusive large show within the series of celebrations, emphasizing its ability to draw audiences from across the country. The announcement that during August more than 120 Macedonian artists will perform in multiple cities frames it as a broad cultural program.
Not all details on ticket sales and organization were given at the press conference, but it was announced that additional information will be published before the start of the events. The organizers say that the joint performance of the two DJs is a significant attraction for Strumica and the region.
