Border police officer kills son-in-law and 19-year-old granddaughter in Veliko Gradište, then kills himself

A violent incident in Veliko Gradište left three people dead and two women wounded, after a border police officer identified by initials B.K. opened fire inside a family home and then took his own life.

The attack reportedly began during a dispute over property. According to local accounts, the shooting happened in a house on a dead-end street; B.K. shot his son-in-law, who worked as a firefighter, and his 19-year-old granddaughter. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. The officer then committed suicide.

Witness and emergency response

An approximately 18-year-old girl who often rides a bicycle past that street discovered a woman lying motionless and covered in blood in front of the house and ran to alert her parents. Emergency medical teams and police arrived at the scene shortly afterward.

Police found three bodies and two injured women at the location — the attacker’s sister and the mother of the son-in-law — who were taken to hospital where doctors are reportedly fighting to save their lives.

Two prosecutors are present at the scene: the deputy chief prosecutor from the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Požarevac and the duty prosecutor. Investigators continue to work on-site to establish the full circumstances of the crime.
