BUKO Stadium evacuated after smoke bomb discovery following Telstar–Feyenoord 4:3
Police cleared and sealed BUKO Stadium in Velsen-Zuid after a smoke bomb was located beneath a stand following Telstar–Feyenoord (4:3).

Police ordered a full evacuation of the BUKO Stadium in Velsen-Zuid after the Saturday match between Telstar and Feyenoord, the game that finished 4:3 in favor of the visitors from Rotterdam. The article carrying the initial report was timestamped 18.10.2026 13:10.
Smoke device found under a stand
Shortly after the final whistle the focus shifted from the seven-goal spectacle to a security operation: officers began clearing everyone who remained inside the ground, and after the post-match press conference the stadium was completely emptied. Police then sealed off the surrounding area and banned access while they assessed a suspicious item.
The trigger for the response was a smoke bomb discovered beneath one of the stands. A specialist unit was dispatched to inspect the object, secure the scene and carry out a detailed check of the item.
The intervention prevented anyone from re-entering the stadium while the operation was under way, and police maintained control of the site for several hours after the match. Authorities later announced that the smoke bomb had been safely secured shortly after midnight.
Once the device was rendered safe the cordon was lifted and BUKO Stadium was confirmed fit for normal use again. What began as an evening marked by a dramatic 4:3 football match ended with an unexpected security operation.
