Tetovo police detain six and seize weapons after video of shooting at celebration in Dobri Dol

Six people were detained and one person was summoned for an official interview after police from Tetovo searched several locations and seized weapons and ammunition following a video that circulated on social media showing young people firing handguns from vehicles during a celebration in the Dobri Dol area of the Gostivar region.

"Today (August 1, 2026) police officers from the Tetovo Police Department in connection with the video published on social networks about shooting at a family celebration in Dobri Dol, Gostivar municipality, carried out searches at several locations, during which six persons were detained and one person was summoned for an official interview. Weapons and ammunition were found and seized during the searches.

At 18:00 a search was conducted at the residence of I.S. (21) from the village of Dobri Dol, and at 18:05 at the residence of A.I. (30) from Dobri Dol, where one gas pistol was found and seized. At the same time a search was carried out at the home of I.B. (25) from Dobri Dol.

At 18:15 a search was conducted at the home of B.A. in Dobri Dol, where 30 cartridges for a gas pistol were found, while 27 spent casings from a gas pistol and one hunting cartridge were found in the yard. B.A. (46) and his son M.A. (21), both from Dobri Dol, were deprived of their liberty.

Then, at 18:25 a search was carried out at the home of T.M. (26) from Dobri Dol, where one pistol with eight rounds, one hunting rifle with seven rounds and one gas pistol were found and seized; T.M. was detained and S.M. was summoned for an official interview," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

All individuals have been taken to a police station for further procedures. The police said that after the cases are fully documented, appropriate charges will be filed.
