Shtip postman reported for negligent official conduct — failed to deliver registered letter from Ministry of Education
Police say a 46-year-old postman signed for a registered letter from the Ministry of Education and Science, and the recipient missed the appeal deadline for an internal mentor–teacher competition.

The Shtip police filed a criminal complaint against a 46-year-old postal worker after investigators say he did not deliver a registered letter from the Ministry of Education and Science to the intended recipient and instead signed the delivery list in her name.
What authorities say
The police said the omission had concrete consequences: the person who should have received the letter missed the deadline to file an appeal in connection with an internal competition for a mentor–teacher position.
“On 07.08.2026, the reported, employed as a postman, did not deliver a registered letter to a person from the Ministry of Education and Science, and signed on her behalf on the list of delivered items, thereby causing her harm by missing the deadlines for appeals in exercising her labor rights, in connection with applying for an internal competition for mentor – teacher,” the Ministry of Interior said.
The Ministry of Interior did not disclose the motive for the forged signature or the reasons the letter was not delivered; it only confirmed that a criminal complaint for negligent performance of duty will be filed against the postal worker.
The case is now in the hands of investigators at the Shtip police unit, who will determine whether the postal worker’s conduct meets the elements of the criminal offence and what charges will follow. The identity of the postal worker has not been released.
