Search for 71-year-old Skopje man in Prespa Lake near Slivnica
M. M., a 71-year-old from Skopje, jumped into the water on 8 August after oars fell from a boat and did not surface; SVR Bitola was notified at about 12:30 that two fishermen came ashore and said two others remained in the boat.

Search teams are looking for M. M., a 71-year-old man from Skopje, after he jumped into Prespa Lake near the village of Slivnica in the Resen municipality yesterday (8 August) to retrieve oars that had fallen from a boat and did not return to shore.
Authorities say the incident happened at the lake shore close to Slivnica; the man entered the water after the oars went overboard and has not been seen since.
Ongoing search and early reports
SVR Bitola received a notification at around 12:30 that two fishermen had come ashore in Slivnica and reported that two other people remained in the boat. Those details were given to the police as search efforts began.
Local services have been informed and a search operation is under way, according to initial reports, but there has been no public update on the condition or whereabouts of M. M. since the first notification.
Family members and neighbours were alerted and the search continues into the evening; authorities have not released further details about the progress of the operation.
