Injured doe left on road between Kichevo and Demir Hisar; activists seek urgent veterinary help

Activists are urgently seeking veterinary help for a badly injured doe found on the road between Kichevo and Demir Hisar, near the village of Cer at the municipal border.

According to the reports circulating in animal-protection groups, the deer is immobile and seriously wounded after being struck by a vehicle. The driver reportedly drove on and left the animal at the scene.

Photographs show the animal on the roadway

An activist published photographs on social media that show the deer lying on the pavement in a pool of blood. The images prompted immediate calls for assistance from volunteers in the area.

The road that links Demir Hisar and Kichevo via Sopotnica usually carries little traffic, but it is known as a stretch where wild animals often cross. That makes collisions with wildlife more likely, local activists note.

Rescue volunteers have appealed to veterinarians in nearby towns — Kichevo, Prilep and Bitola — asking for an urgent response to try to save the wounded animal. Activists continue to search for professional help and any passers-by who can assist.
