A fire broke out above Bogovinsko Lake on Šar Mountain on October 4, 2026. The blaze was reported to the Regional Centre for Crisis Management – Tetovo at 11:54 a.m., and authorities say it is burning on inaccessible terrain near the border between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Kosovo.
Park officials notified
After the report, the Regional Centre for Crisis Management – Tetovo informed the Public Enterprise "National Park Šar Planina", which confirmed it had been notified about the incident.
The Public Enterprise stated that the fire has affected pastureland located on steep, difficult-to-reach slopes in the border zone between the two countries.
