JSP bus catches fire at Centar stop in Skopje; no injuries
Ministry of Interior: blaze began in the rear and was extinguished by the driver and the Skopje Fire Brigade.
A bus operated by JSP caught fire while standing at a bus stop in the Centar area of Skopje on 15 September; no one was hurt, the Ministry of Interior said.
"On 15 September at about 17:05 the Skopje Police Department received a report that a fire started in the rear part of a JSP bus at a bus stop in Centar. The fire was extinguished by the driver and the Skopje Fire Brigade. There are no injured persons, and all passengers disembarked safely," the Ministry of Interior said.
Driver and firefighters put out the blaze
According to the ministry's statement, there were passengers on board at the time the fire began. The driver reacted immediately and, together with teams from the Skopje Fire Brigade, brought the situation under control before anyone was injured.
Witnesses at the stop said passengers left the bus without panic once the driver signalled them to disembark. Emergency services attended the scene to ensure the area was safe and to prevent any secondary incidents.
The Ministry did not provide details about the cause of the fire. Authorities said only that the blaze started in the rear section of the vehicle and that the case has been recorded by the Skopje Police Department.
