Skopje cancels Luna Park contract worth 621 million denars
Contract signed on 6 May 2026 was terminated on 17 August 2026; project now faces delays for the promised 2027 opening.

The long‑planned Luna Park in Skopje faces a major setback after the City of Skopje terminated the construction and equipment contract worth 621 million denars (about €10 million).
Key contract details and timeline
According to records from the Bureau for Public Procurement, the contract was officially terminated on 17 August 2026. The agreement had been signed on 6 May 2026 and covered design, supply and installation of attractions, landscape works and construction of ancillary facilities.
The sole bid in the tender came from Mastef, which participated together with Piramid Building Solutions; subcontractors listed in the procurement documentation included Zhikol and Geokontrol. The project envisioned installation of 16 new attractions, among them roller coasters, a panoramic wheel, a pirate ship and a carousel.
Skopje Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski had earlier announced that the capital would receive a modern amusement park by 2027. With the cancellation of the contract, it is now uncertain whether that deadline can be met.
Requests for clarification sent to the City of Skopje and to the company did not receive a response before publication. The reasons and legal basis for the termination have not been publicly explained.
Skopje has been without a functioning Luna Park for more than a decade despite repeated pledges by city officials. The planned site in City Park remains undeveloped and the timeline for resuming the project is unclear.
