Tickets allocated for persons with disabilities listed for resale before North Macedonia–Scotland

03.10.2026 — Hours before North Macedonia meets Scotland in the third round of Group B in the Nations League, a scandal has emerged around ticket allocations intended for people with disabilities.

The match arrives after a difficult start to the new cycle and weak performances by the national team, which have reduced interest among local supporters. There is concern that, for the first time in the country's history, visiting fans may outnumber home supporters; about 4.000 Scottish fans are expected at the country's largest stadium tonight.

Online listings for special-needs tickets

Members of our editorial team received messages showing online advertisements on Facebook offering tickets for sale. The listings indicate that the tickets being marketed were distributed by the Federation for Persons with Special Needs or were intended for companions of people with special needs.

Photographs attached to the online posts focus on the part of the advertisement that names these tickets as intended for persons with special needs. The appearance of such listings has provoked calls for a swift institutional response and an investigation into who authorised the allocations and who resold them.

People familiar with the issue told us that resale of tickets earmarked for special categories is not a new problem and that similar cases have occurred for years.

Authorities and the Federation for Persons with Special Needs have been urged to determine responsibility and to stop the practice ahead of the match tonight.
