Verdict today for accused serial killer Trajche Bojkovski in Kumanovo
Families of the victims gathered at the Kumanovo court as the judge prepares to issue a ruling in the case of Trajche Bojkovski.

Relatives of the victims waited in the courthouse in Kumanovo today for the verdict in the trial of the accused serial killer Trajche Bojkovski.
At the previous hearing prosecutor Ljubomir Lape asked the court to hand down a life sentence. Bojkovski is charged with killing four women and attempting to kill two more.
Pattern of attacks and alleged motive
Although he presented himself as a quiet shepherd in Nagorichane, the indictment describes him as a predator who stalked and selected people who lived alone, usually elderly and weakened. The charges say he strangled them to death and then raped them.
According to the prosecution, necrophilia was the strongest motive in all the crimes. The defence rejected that characterization: it denied that the motive was sexual gratification, denied that the prosecutor had proven the charges, and asked for a lesser sentence.
Authorities say the series of killings lasted for more than a year and that Bojkovski was discovered after the murder of his last alleged victim, which prompted an autopsy request. The court in Kumanovo is expected to pronounce its judgment this afternoon.
