Gevgelija warmest this morning; Popova Shapka coldest
Gevgelija was the warmest spot this morning at 31,6 degrees; Popova Shapka was the coolest at 18 degrees.
This morning Gevgelija recorded the highest temperature in the country at 31,6 degrees, while Demir Kapija and the Zajchev Rid measuring station in Skopje registered 31 degrees each.
Close behind were Veles with 30,9 degrees and Shtip with 30,5, while Vinica and Kavadarci both reached 30,4 degrees. Exactly 30 degrees were measured in Strumica and at the Skopje-Petrovec measuring station.
Regional spread
Temperatures were noticeably lower in other areas: Tetovo, Kriva Palanka and Prilep showed 28,3 degrees; Topolchani measured 27; Pozharane 26,3; Berovo 25,6; Mavrovi Anovi 25,5; and Radovish-Pozhar 25,3 degrees.
The most comfortable morning conditions were observed in tourist and mountain locations. Ohrid recorded 25,2 degrees, Pretor 24,2, Kruševo 22,9, while Popova Shapka remained the coolest place in the country with only 18 degrees.
The readings show a clear north–south and lowland–highland contrast typical for summer mornings, with coastal and valley towns warmer and upland resorts much fresher.
