59-year-old from Veles arrested after fire caused while burning dry grass
A local resident identified as T.T. was detained after flames from burning dry grass and rubble spread from his yard to a hill nearby.

Police in Veles detained a 59-year-old local after a fire that started when he burned dry grass and construction waste in his yard spread to a nearby hill, authorities said.
The suspect, identified by the initials T.T., was taken into custody yesterday afternoon by officers from the Veles Police Department (SVR Veles). According to the police account, the blaze began while he was burning dry vegetation and discarded rubble on his property.
Fire spread and response
The flames moved from the yard onto the adjacent hill and grew into a larger fire, prompting a response from the Veles Territorial Firefighting Unit, which extinguished the blaze.
Police reported that there were no injuries linked to the incident.
An investigative team from SVR Veles examined the scene, and the case was reported to a public prosecutor.
The police said the man is suspected of causing the fire; the investigation and any potential criminal proceedings are ongoing.
