The inspection was carried out in coordination with the Department for Criminal Police at the Public Security Bureau and the Department for Civil Affairs at the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). Authorities say the action was part of routine operational controls.
Lj. M. was taken to a police station following the discovery. Police officials indicated that, after the case is documented, appropriate charges will be filed against him.
The items described as light-and-sound signaling pistols are weapons that produce visual and auditory effects and normally require permits for possession, according to police terminology used in the bulletin.
