Antoine Semenyo to miss around eight weeks for Manchester City

Manchester City will be without winger Antoine Semenyo for an extended period after he suffered a knee injury in the Premier League victory over Ipswich Town on Saturday.

Both Semenyo and Erling Haaland limped off late in City’s 3-2 win, and manager Enzo Maresca confirmed the club’s medical checks were not encouraging for the Ghana international. Semenyo is expected to be sidelined for roughly eight weeks and is likely to miss fixtures through November, with the manager saying he will be out until December.

Squad implications

The setback forces City to revise their wing options during a busy period of domestic and continental matches. The club will need to rely on remaining wide attackers and possible tactical adjustments while Semenyo recovers.

On Haaland, Maresca was more optimistic. While the striker also felt a knock during the same match, the manager indicated it appears less serious and suggested Haaland might be available for the home game against AEK Athens on Tuesday.

City now face the immediate task of managing player fitness across competitions as they await clearer timelines from the medical staff for Semenyo’s rehabilitation.
