Professor Vladimir Trajkovski questions Iva Mihailova’s medical condition

On 16 October 2026 professor Vladimir Trajkovski publicly questioned the health condition of Iva Mihailova after seeing her during a television appearance. In a post on Facebook he said he had never encountered, in his entire career, a patient with spastic paraplegia who appeared as "fresh" and stood upright on both legs on TV like Mihailova.

Trajkovski's observations and the earlier neurology check

Trajkovski, who teaches Medical Foundations of Disability, referred to a neurological examination Mihailova reportedly had several months earlier but said he did not know what signs or symptoms were recorded at that time. He wrote that, based on what he observed on television, there are currently no signs of the condition: "I do not know what signs and symptoms she had at the examination several months ago at the Clinic for Neurology, but now I guarantee to you that there are no signs of spastic paraplegia."

In his Facebook post the professor focused on Mihailova’s posture and general appearance during the broadcast and contrasted that with the symptoms that may have been noted at her earlier medical check.

Trajkovski did not provide additional medical evidence or details in the post; he shared his professional opinion based on the televised appearance.

The case of Iva Mihailova has attracted strong public attention, particularly after she left for Bulgaria where she is said to have sought treatment, while in North Macedonia a procedure is underway linked to a traffic accident that resulted in fatalities. Her departure has raised questions about the circumstances under which she left the country and about her health status.

The professor’s statements add a new element to the public debate, but no further confirmations from medical institutions or authorities were included in his post.
