Traffic changes in Skopje for 22nd Wizz Air Skopje Marathon

Parts of Skopje's streets and boulevards will be closed to traffic today between 6:00 and 14:00, and vehicles will be redirected to alternative routes because of the 22nd Wizz Air Skopje Marathon.

The sections included in the marathon route will be temporarily diverted to nearby streets and boulevards while the race is in progress.

Closed to traffic will be the stretch from Rekord, namely the streets "Makedonija" and "Dimitrie Chupovski", continuing along Bulevar "Mitropolit Teodosij Gologanov" and the street "Vasil Chakalorov" up to the Chrom area.

Other affected corridors

Parts of the street "11 Oktomvri" — the section from the Assembly toward Crven Krst — will also be closed, as will sections of the boulevards "Krusevska Republika" and "Treta makedonska brigada" up to the area near the American College.

In the Aerodrom municipality a special traffic regime will cover the stretches toward the Military Pool, the Maternity Hospital and Bulevar "Jane Sandanski" up to the junction with Bulevar "Srbija".

Drivers using the listed roads should follow alternative directions; specific diversions will be implemented depending on the movement of the runners. The Ministry of Internal Affairs appeals to drivers to avoid travelling along the marathon routes between 6:00 and 14:00 and to obey the orders and directions of uniformed police officers on site.

Organizers ask citizens for understanding for the temporary traffic arrangements and urge people to plan their Sunday journeys in advance and choose alternative routes where necessary.
