Vasil Ringov memorial tournament to be held at Football Federation pitches

The first ever memorial tournament named for Vasil Ringov will take place on September 2–3 on the pitches of the Football Federation of North Macedonia.

More than 20 teams from across North Macedonia will participate, with boys born in 2016, 2017 and 2018 competing. Organisers say the event is aimed at sport, camaraderie and passing the club traditions of Vardar on to a new generation.

Young players will have the chance not only to play but to learn about the history and personalities of the most decorated Macedonian club; organisers emphasise that Ringov is one of those figures whose legacy they want to pass on to the children.

Former teammates invited as guests

The tournament organisers have invited former teammates and club legends to attend and meet the children. Expected guests include Kocho Dimitrovski, Gordan Zdravkov, Sasho Todorovski, Boban Babunski, Goce Shteriev, Goce Aleksovski, Vujadin Stanojković, Ilija Najdoski, Darko Pančev and Odžakov.

The opening ceremony will be conducted by Srdjan Ivanovic, the author of Vasil Ringov’s biography, giving the weekend an added commemorative and respectful tone beyond the sporting programme.

Matches on Wednesday, September 2 start at 18:00. The organisers have published the group compositions for each age category as follows.
