PSG close to signing Mika Godts for around €60 million
Left winger has a personal agreement with PSG; Paris and Ajax still negotiating a fee reported at about €60 million.
Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly close to securing Mika Godts after the youngster reached a personal agreement with the French club, but PSG still needs to finalise terms with Ajax — the Dutch side is said to be seeking a fee of about €60 million.
Deal structure and demands
If the clubs reach an accord, Godts is expected to sign a contract running until mid-2031 or 2032. His agent, Nils de Jong, confirmed progress in negotiations and said that the player has been informed about the salary and has provisionally accepted the terms.
“Mika has been informed about the salary and in principle accepted the conditions. PSG has made it clear that they want to bring him at all costs. Mika also wants to go to Paris, which I think is logical given that this is a transfer from the Dutch league to a club that has won the Champions League twice,” De Jong explained.
De Jong acknowledged the difficulty of the decision for the player and his family. “He and his wife are happy in Amsterdam, and Mika really wanted to win more trophies with Ajax. But when an opportunity like this appears, priorities change,” he added.
Ajax technical director Jordi Cruyff reportedly does not want to sell Godts but recognises that certain offers are hard to refuse; the club’s objective is to obtain the best possible compensation. “Everyone in this business has their own interests, that is normal,” De Jong said. “I am convinced the clubs will agree on the amount of compensation,” the agent concluded in a statement to De Telegraaf.
Godts became a key player for Ajax, especially last season. He joined Ajax in early 2024 from Belgian Genk for a fee of €1 million and quickly established himself in the first team. In 113 appearances for the club he has scored 25 goals and provided 27 assists. His current Ajax contract runs until the summer of 2029. During his time in Amsterdam he also broke into the Belgian national team, although former coach Rudi Garcia did not include him in the World Cup squad. The exact sum PSG is prepared to pay has not been made official.
