PSG tracking 17-year-old Adil Hamdani, a versatile Lyon prospect

Paris Saint-Germain is monitoring Adil Hamdani, the 17-year-old forward currently at Lyon, after a string of impressive performances that have raised his profile during the closing days of the transfer window. Interest from the French capital could complicate Lyon’s efforts to lock the player into his first professional contract.

Hamdani is a versatile attacker: he can operate on both wings and also behind a central striker, a trait that has attracted attention from clubs looking for adaptable young talent. Coaches and youth directors at Lyon have highlighted his technique, his drive and his ability to create advantages when given space on the pitch.

Despite regular involvement with Lyon’s youth teams, Hamdani has not yet signed a professional deal. Lyon have reportedly offered him terms for months, but his current status as a youth player leaves him exposed to outside approaches in this transfer window. PSG are said to be following developments closely and may make a formal offer if conditions change.

Early senior experience and statistics

Hamdani made his senior debut for Lyon at 16 years and 306 days in a match against Auxerre, becoming one of the club’s youngest first-team players of the 21st century. Last season he accumulated seven appearances for the senior side across Ligue 1, the UEFA Europa League and the Coupe de France, and he recorded an assist in the Europa League fixture against PAOK.

Born in Paris, Hamdani has featured for France at U16 and U17 levels, but his international future remains open: he is also eligible to represent Algeria and Senegal. That multi-national eligibility adds another layer to his profile as clubs assess both his sporting and potential international trajectory.

As the transfer window approaches its end, Lyon will be under pressure to decide whether to step up contract negotiations or risk losing a promising academy product, while PSG’s monitoring keeps the situation fluid in the coming days.
