Fans to choose 'Ballon d'Or of all time' among multiple-time winners
Fans can choose the standout player among multiple-time Ballon d'Or winners; Cristiano Ronaldo was leading the poll at publication.

Organisers behind the Ballon d'Or have opened a public poll asking fans to pick the standout player among those who won the award multiple times.
The voting list gathers some of football's most decorated names from recent decades: Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Alfredo Di Stefano, Johan Cruyff, Franz Beckenbauer, Kevin Keegan, Karl‑Heinz Rummenigge, Michel Platini, Marco van Basten and Ronaldo Nazario. All listed players have won the Ballon d'Or at least twice.
Who counts as the 'Ballon d'Or of all time'?
According to the organisers' presentation, Lionel Messi has the most nominations, with a record eight awards, while Cristiano Ronaldo appears on the list with five. The public vote gives supporters a chance to name the single player who made the biggest impression in the season they received the prize.
The initiative echoes a similar event staged thirty years after the award's launch, when Alfredo Di Stefano received a special ‘Super Ballon’ distinction in 1989.
At the moment of publication, the official Ballon d'Or social accounts reported that Cristiano Ronaldo was leading the poll. The organisers encouraged fans to take part and offered a prize draw tied to the vote.
