Two people were wounded in an early-morning shooting in the village of Arachinovo, authorities said. The incident was reported to the Skopje Police Department at 05:45 on 23 August 2026.

Police say shots fired at a Škoda on '18' Street

According to the Ministry of Interior (MVR), officers from the Arachinovo Police Station and the Intervention Police Unit of the Skopje Police Department went to the scene after residents reported gunfire on "18" Street. They found that shots had been fired at a Škoda passenger car with Skopje registration plates.

The two occupants of the vehicle were identified as I.I. (34) and Sh.I. (42). Both sustained injuries and were transported to the Public Health Institution "St. Naum Ohridski" for medical treatment.

Police also reported that special forces responded to the scene. Investigators said measures are being taken to clarify the circumstances of the incident.

No further details about the nature of the injuries, suspects or motive have been released so far as the probe continues.
