Airport worker killed after being struck by plane at Montréal–Trudeau Airport
The worker, employed by Samsic, was struck by a French bee Airbus A350 while the aircraft was preparing to depart for Paris on 24 August at about 19:30 local time.

An airport ground worker died after being struck by an Airbus A350 at Montréal–Trudeau Airport on 24 August at about 19:30 local time, airport officials said. The worker was employed by Samsic, a company that provides ground-handling services at the airport, and was struck while the aircraft prepared for a flight to Paris.
According to initial reports, the French bee A350 was moving backward on the apron/taxi area as crew prepared the aircraft for departure. The worker, who was part of the ramp operations team, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds.
No passengers or members of the flight crew were injured in the incident. French bee said it is cooperating with Canadian authorities as investigators examine the circumstances.
Investigation under way
Canadian media reports indicate the victim was a member of the airport community assigned to runway/apron operations. Authorities have opened an investigation to establish the exact movements of both the aircraft and the ground worker at the moment of the collision and to determine whether standard safety procedures were followed.
The airport management expressed condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased and said it would provide support to staff and travellers who witnessed the event. A minute of silence has been announced for today (24 August).
