Ramadan Sherifi dedicated his goal to Daniel Nikolovski

(14.09.2026 10:48) The sporting public, and the whole of North Macedonia, are shaken by the tragic news of the death of 21-year-old footballer Daniel Nikolovski, who lost his life in a serious traffic accident on the road from the Mavrovo interchange to Gostivar.

In FK Drita Bogovinje's match against Jehona (7:1), Ramadan Sherifi scored a goal and dedicated it to Daniel Nikolovski. Nikolovski had joined Drita Bogovinje this summer.

Nikolovski, aged 21, in his career played for his home club Teteks, and also had appearances in Germany for lower-league Relingen Fremersdorf and in Croatia for Hrvatski Vitez from Zadar.

The news of his death had a major impact among players and fans; teams and individuals expressed condolences to the family and loved ones.

Tribute on the field

Sherifi's dedication took place immediately after his goal in the convincing victory, with teammates and the opposing team observing a minute of silence and paying tribute to the tragically deceased player. The club that signed him this summer now faces a period of mourning.

The competent authorities are expected to clarify the cause of the traffic accident on the road from the Mavrovo interchange to Gostivar. The football community will remember Nikolovski for his talent and for the path he began at 21 years old.
