Morning cleanup in Ohrid after overnight outdoor party
Public Enterprise Ohrid Komunalec crews removed large quantities of waste from the city centre and quay on the morning of 2 August 2026; some young people remained at Malo Pristanishte until 6:30 AM.

Crews from the public enterprise Ohrid Komunalec worked from the early hours on 2 August 2026 to clear large amounts of litter left after an overnight outdoor gathering in Ohrid's central area and along the quay.
Municipal teams collected bottles, glasses and other refuse abandoned at open-air party sites, focusing their efforts on the city centre and the shoreline. Clean-up work continued through the morning to restore pedestrian areas and public spaces.
Evening festivities, morning cleanup
Although most of the waste was removed by municipal crews, groups of young people remained in parts of the central district. At 6:30 AM some were still gathered at Malo Pristanishte and in nearby streets, delaying a full return to normal street use for residents and visitors.
Local services prioritized high-traffic locations — the quay and main pedestrian routes — to reduce safety hazards and reopen access for morning commuters and tourists.
The clean-up operation on 2 August 2026 illustrates how summer open-air celebrations in Ohrid place recurring demands on municipal maintenance teams, who work early hours to clear public spaces and prevent litter from affecting waterfront areas.
