Real Madrid submits extensive files to UEFA in 'Negreira' probe
UEFA's ethics and disciplinary inspectors will review documents Real Madrid handed over about payments to José María Enriquez Negreira.

On October 1, 2026, UEFA confirmed receipt of a large volume of documents that Real Madrid submitted in relation to the so-called "Negreira" case. The paperwork concerns the probe into payments from Barcelona to former vice‑president of the refereeing committee José María Enriquez Negreira.
UEFA to examine material within existing inquiry
UEFA said its ethics and disciplinary inspectors will review the dossier as part of the ongoing investigation. Real Madrid has asked the European governing body to take disciplinary steps against Barcelona.
Among the sanctions Real has demanded is the possible exclusion of Barcelona from European competitions for one season, should UEFA determine there was a breach of Article 4 of the regulations.
Real also asked UEFA to reassess trophies won during the period covered by the case. So far, UEFA has not decided to strip any titles or to exclude Barcelona from continental tournaments.
Barcelona issued a statement stressing that the procedure has not been reopened and that the investigation opened in 2023 remains in progress.
