A 4–1 win at the Santiago Bernabéu, with Arda Guler opening and Kylian Mbappé netting a brace ahead of El Clásico.
Real Madrid strengthened their chase at the top of La Liga with a convincing 4–1 win over Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabéu on 18 October 2026, in the ninth round of the championship.
The hosts took the initiative in the first half when Arda Guler opened the scoring in the 30th minute with a strike from the edge of the box. Seven minutes later Kylian Mbappé doubled the lead after a fine individual run and finish.
Mbappé completed his brace in the 63rd minute to make it 3–0 and effectively put the result beyond doubt.
Sevilla did not go quietly — Manu Bueno pulled one back to reduce the deficit to 3–1 and briefly offered the visitors a route back into the match.
Late goal seals the win
Real regained control and in the 82nd minute Jan Diomande struck to make it 4–1, rounding off a dominant display by the home side.
The victory gives Real valuable three points ahead of the upcoming El Clásico against Barcelona, while Sevilla left Madrid empty-handed after a difficult trip.
