Real Madrid completed a dramatic comeback to beat Dubai 98-95 after overtime and advance to the EuroLeague Super Cup final on September 18, 2026. The Spanish side erased a 16-point deficit and survived a sensational performance by Elie Okobo to seal the win.

Late heroics, extra time and a tense finish

Dubai dominated the first half and at one point led by 16 points in the middle of the second quarter, putting Real in real trouble. Okobo added two more points, and McKinley Wright hit both free throws to leave the teams separated by a single point with 23 seconds left. From the ensuing foul shots Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot made both attempts to put Real up by three.

Dubai had one final chance when McKinley Wright attempted a game-tying three for a second overtime but missed; Real secured the rebound and held on to complete the 95:98 victory and book their place in the Super Cup final.

The match, played on 18.09.2026, delivered a roller-coaster of momentum swings and the kind of late drama many expected at the start of the season.
