At the Santiago Bernabéu on 26 August 2026 Kylian Mbappé scored in the 40th, 60th and 80th minutes; Vinícius added a goal in the 68th; Sučić pulled one back in the 44th.
Real Madrid delivered a dominant performance at the Santiago Bernabéu on 26 August 2026, beating Real Sociedad 4–1 in LaLiga. The home side put the result beyond doubt with a stunning individual display and an emphatic team finish.
Mbappé decides with a hat-trick
Kylian Mbappé was the starring figure, scoring three times — in the 40th, 60th and 80th minutes — to complete a hat-trick that left the visitors chasing shadows. Jose Mourinho praised that display, describing Mbappé as having played “The Special One” level — and the forward’s goals left the Bernabéu crowd in full voice.
Vinícius added the other goal for Real in the 68th minute, while the visitors’ only reply came through Sučić in the 44th minute to make it 1–1 briefly. The home side then reasserted control and ran out comfortable winners.
The result sends a clear signal to Barcelona and the rest of the title contenders: Real Madrid look intent on making this season theirs. After two league matches the club has two wins — "two from two" — and a total goal difference of 6–2, half of those goals coming from Mbappé.
Madrid’s performance combined individual brilliance and collective intensity; Mourinho’s team will hope to build on the momentum as the campaign progresses.
