Reljić wins bronze at World Open in Taiyuan
Milijana Reljić finished third in the -62kg class at the G‑4 Women's Open in Taiyuan, securing bronze and boosting her Olympic ranking.

Milijana Reljić claimed the bronze medal at the G‑4 Women's Open World Championship in Taiyuan, China, after a strong run in the -62kg division on 28.08.2026. The field included 43 competitors, and Reljić finished on the podium behind China and Russia.
Key victories and a dramatic turnaround
Reljić opened her campaign with a 2:0 win in rounds over host-country fighter Yijiao Sang, then advanced past Uzbekistan's Mohidil Uktamjonova with a narrow 2:1 rounds victory. Those results set her up for a decisive bout that secured a medal.
In the fight that guaranteed her a place on the podium, Reljić defeated Taipei's Chia Wei Wang by 2:1 in rounds. That match featured a remarkable swing: in the second round Reljić trailed 0:4 on points, but with two seconds remaining she landed a heavy left kick that scored six points and completed a comeback to a 6:4 advantage.
Her run ended in the semifinals, where she lost a tight contest to Russia's Sofiya Motlok, 1:2 in rounds — "literally tenths separated us from reaching the final," as the margin described the closeness of the bout.
The bronze brings Reljić an additional 14,4 points in the Olympic ranking, a gain that will lift her into the top 16 and strengthen her bid for a qualification spot for Los Angeles 2028.
