Ristovski and Hristov named volleyball referees for 20th Mediterranean Games in Taranto
Two North Macedonian officials with CEV badges will referee at both men's and women's tournaments; North Macedonia will be represented only in the women's competition.

On 30 July 2026 it was confirmed that two of North Macedonia’s most experienced volleyball referees, Vlatko Ristovski and Josip Hristov, have been selected to the delegation for the 20th Mediterranean Games in Taranto, Italy.
Both officials — who hold CEV badges — are included among the match officials assigned to referee at the volleyball competitions for men and women. North Macedonia will, however, have an athlete only in the women's tournament.
Season form and recent assignments
Ristovski’s nomination comes after a busy international season: he was delegated to six matches in CEV European Cup competitions and acted as the first referee in a Challenge Cup semifinal in the men's competition.
Hristov also arrives in strong form following an excellent European campaign that included a CEV semifinal; this summer he additionally served as a referee in the 2026 European League.
The 20th Mediterranean Games run from 21 August to 3 September 2026 in Taranto, and the appointment of Ristovski and Hristov will add to North Macedonia’s presence among the event’s officiating staff.
