After Cristiano Ronaldo announced the end of his international career on 5 November 2026, former North Macedonia captain Stefan Ristovski posted a retro photograph recalling their meeting at Estádio do Dragão.
Ristovski shared the image on his social media accounts, showing the two captains exchanging federation pennants before the World Cup play-off in Porto on 29 March 2022.
That night at the Dragão the home side won 2:0 and secured qualification for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Ristovski also reminded followers that part of his playing career was spent at Sporting Lisbon alongside Bruno Fernandes, with Sporting being the first professional club of Cristiano Ronaldo.
